Savory with a sweet twist, tender, and juicy chicken kabobs reminds me of summer – the season for the BBQ. Lucky for you, you would not need to wait till summer to try this recipe. You can make these colorful skewers at home at any time.I know chicken kabobs are done mostly on a grill. However, for today’s recipe, we will use an air fryer. If you do not have an air fryer, an oven will also do the trick. If you just love the taste of the grilled chicken, feel free to use a grill.
Tools are not the most important thing, the sauce is the secret. Most recipes ask you to marinate the chicken for an hour, if you do not have the patience to wait for an hour for the marination, do not worry. This recipe does not require you to do that. It took me 30mins from preparation to down to the tummy.

A few things that help
The trick to the sauce is to make sure honey and soy sauce is 1:1. If you add too much honey, the chicken will taste too sweet and sauce gets burnt more easily. If you add too much soy sauce, you will not be able the taste the sweet aftertaste, which is what makes this recipe special.
You can replace bell pepper and mushroom with whatever vegetables you prefer. Make sure the vegetables you choose need the same amount time to be cooked as the chicken. You can see I chopped bell pepper piece to the similar size as chicken pieces. This helps bell pepper to cook properly without getting burnt. I personally do not like mix tender chicken with crunchy textured vegetables. Personal choices really, if you like your vegetables crunchy, make them bigger in size.

I know not everyone uses air fryer. You can do this chicken kabobs recipe in the oven too. Oven can use the same temperature setting. Make chicken kabobs big enough so they do not fall through the oven shelf grid. I do not recommend to use a baking tray to hold the kabobs because the bottom of the skewers will not get a good air circulation. Make sure the oven setting you use is the fan setting. Different ovens may perform differently, remember to check regularly.

- 1/3 cup Honey
- 1/3 cup Soy sauce
- Pepper chop into small squares
- 6 Mushrooms chop in half
- 3 Bell peppers All different colors to make the chicken kabobs colorful
- Oil a few spray
- 2 Chicken breasts diced
Dice two chicken breasts into cubes, add a pinch of pepper, salt and few sprays of oil.
Add 1/3 cup of honey and 1/3 cup of sauce soy, mix every well together. Add some sesame seeds and stir well.
Clean some wooden skewers, start putting in peppers, chickens and mushroom pieces onto the skewers.
Pre-heat airfryer at 170°C/338°F, coat all the chicken kabobs with the mixed sauce.
Load all the chicken kabobs into the airfryer basket, cook under 170°C/338°F for 15mins-20mins , ready to serve.
